November 21,2013 /3BL Media/ - The company has won the Kenexa Best Workplaces Award 2013 for the Medium-Large Workplace category for the fifth time in 7 years. In 2010 Mars NZ was also the overall winner across all categories.

Mars NZ General Manager Gerry Lynch said one of the main motivations to enter the Kenexa Best Workplaces survey is that it is an excellent measure of  Mars’ employee engagement. “This survey alongside the Gallup survey gives us an insight into how engaged our Associates are and also provides us with rich qualitative data on which to base our engagement action plans, to improve our workplace even further.”

Gerry noted, on accepting the Award, the importance of the five principles. He told the audience these were a “big differentiator” for Mars, distinguishing them from other employers. Gerry said: “We ensure that our Associates from management down know and can use the principles as they are the basis of everything we do. “

The Kenexa Best Workplaces Awards are highly recognized and respected in New Zealand and are open to all New Zealand based businesses. Employees rate their organization based on 60 questions across a range of measures, including:

  • Communication
  • Culture and values
  • Common purpose
  • Learning and development
  • Reward and recognition

The responses are analyzed and participating organizations are then ranked on their overall score.
