September 26, 2013 /3BL Media/ - In early July, 635 of the world's top young scientists and over 30 Nobel Laureates came together to share knowledge and ideas at the 63rd Nobel Laureate Meetings in Lindau, Germany.

Mars has been a long-term supporter of the Lindau Meetings, which take place each year and aim to foster dialogue and interaction between Nobel Laureates and the next generation of outstanding young scientists.

So that as wide an audience as possible can share in the unique conversations that took place at this year's Meetings, Mars has supported the production of a series of Laureate documentaries by leading scientific publisher Nature Publishing Group (NPG).

The documentaries were filmed during the Lindau Meetings and the first episode has just been launched on Nature.com - one of the most popular global science websites. More Laureate documentaries will be posted on Nature.com throughout September and October.

NPG also created a film on Mars involvement at this year's meetings, including coverage from the Mars panel discussion with Nobel Laureate and former US Secretary of Energy, Steven Chu, and Mars Chief Agricultural Officer, Howard-Yana Shapiro. In front of an audience of over 150 young scientists, Dr. Shapiro and Prof. Chu provided insights into the interrelated resource challenges facing global society, from climate change to food and nutrition security.
