Mission Waco will soon be known as one of Texas’ sustainability leaders thanks to a new partnership. Green Mountain Energy Sun Club has selected the Waco-based nonprofit to receive a $234,000 donation to support a unique sustainability project dubbed Urban REAP for “Urban Renewable Energy and Agriculture Project.”

Republic Services of Gulf Shores, Alabama presented the Friends Of the Thomas B. Norton Library with a $3,500 grant as part of their annual Republic Rewards Community Grant Program.

During the month of December, the CITGO Lemont Refinery hosted 38 science and math teachers from 24 area schools for a STEM workshop as a way to further enhance the science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) curriculum used in local schools.
