Procter and Gamble (P&G) announced today that its Children’s Safe Drinking Water Program (CSDW) has set a goal of 15 billion liters of clean drinking water to be delivered by 2020 to reduce illness caused by contaminated water and help save lives in developing countries. Since the program started more than a decade ago, P&G and its network of global partners have delivered nine billion liters of clean water to those in need.

Through the generosity of The Eugene F. Fay Trust, BNY Mellon has awarded operating support grants to 10 Boston-area nonprofits, providing them with critical funding for capacity-building activities. The Eugene F. Fay Trust Mini-Grants Program provides organizations with $5,000 grants for technical assistance and non-programmatic support aimed at strengthening the overall organization or a particular program. BNY Mellon is trustee of the Eugene F. Fay Trust and administers the Mini-Grants Program.

JPMorgan Chase, Detroit Development Fund and the W.K. Kellogg Foundation Announce $6.5 Million Loan Fund for Detroit’s Minority-Owned Small Businesses

The Detroit Development Fund (DDF), JPMorgan Chase & Co. and the W.K. Kellogg Foundation (WKKF) today announced a new $6.5 million lending program for Detroit businesses owned by entrepreneurs of color and businesses that primarily hire people of color. The Entrepreneurs of Color Fund will boost economic opportunity for minority-owned businesses in Detroit by providing them with greater access to capital and business assistance, allowing them to grow, hire local and further contribute to the city’s recovery.

John Kiker’s pro bono story began on September 11, 2001.

John was serving as the Vice President of Marketing Communications for United Airlines at the time of the attacks. His responsibilities included leading a crisis communications team – and coordinating its work with the airline’s humanitarian, operational, and investigative teams – in the event of an accident or other emergency. The communications effort undertaken by his team in the wake of the 9/11 attacks has been cited as being among the most compassionate and comprehensive in the history of the industry.
