Keep America Beautiful Announces Launch of 2016 Recycle-Bowl; Urges Nation to #BeRecycled Ahead of America Recycles Day

As students, teachers, administrators and staff prepare to head back to school, national nonprofit Keep America Beautiful plans to ignite a passion for recycling in schools across the nation with the launch of its 6th Annual Keep America Beautiful Recycle-Bowl. Registration opens today for the fall recycling competition at http://Recycle-Bowl.org/.

Through participation in Recycle-Bowl and America Recycles Day, the only nationally-recognized day dedicated to promoting and celebrating recycling in the United States, Keep America Beautiful is helping communities spotlight recycling on a local level by educating students and community members on how and what to recycle, while providing an array of resources to improve recycling in America.

Arrow Electronics Employees Adopt Orphanage in Rural Africa

In the fall of 2015, global technology company Arrow Electronics helped launch the first “DigiTruck” in Africa. The self-sustainable mobile computer lab brought technology and internet access to children living largely off the grid in the Tuleeni Orphans Home, located on the remote slopes of Mt. Kilimanjaro in Tanzania.

'He Named Me Malala' Earns Five Emmy Nominations, 21CF Backs Girls Education Through Malala Fund

Of 21st Century Fox's combined 103 nominations for the 68th Emmy Awards, five belong to He Named Me Malala, the powerful documentary from Fox Searchlight and National Geographic chronicling the life of Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Malala Yousafzai. In February, the National Geographic Channel aired the global broadcast premiere of the film commercial-free and ran a social media campaign with 21CF to raise funds for Malala's work to ensure young women and girls have access to quality secondary education. 21CF and its employees donated more than $125,000 to Malala Fund to provide education for Syrian refugee girls living in Jordan and Lebanon.

First Annual Great Massachusetts Cleanup Yields Nearly 33 Tons of Trash

The first annual Great Massachusetts Cleanup wrapped up at the end of May with impressive results. Thanks to the efforts of nearly 9,000 volunteers and municipal leaders in 50 communities across the state, there are at least 33 fewer tons of trash and litter in Massachusetts.
