AEG Raises More Than $60,000 for Pediatric Cancer Research at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles Through Company-Sponsored Nautica Malibu Triathlon Team

In a combined effort to advance its employees’ health and well-being and continue its longstanding support of Children’s Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA), AEG – the world’s leading sports and live entertainment company – raised more than $60,000 for CHLA through its involvement with the Nautica Malibu Triathlon on Sunday, Sept. 16 in Malibu, Calif.

In households across America, questions like these are heard several times a day: “Is this recyclable?” “It’s okay to put my recyclables in a bag, right?” “Do I need to do anything to this pizza box before I recycle it?”

Recycling started as a relatively easy concept — converting discarded resources into reusable material. But, over time, two things happened — the way manufacturers package their products changed and community recycling guidelines became disparate and confusing. Today, people are genuinely unsure about what to recycle, what not to recycle and how to recycle. The one constant in this equation — people want to recycle.

Aramark volunteers from Chicago and Los Angeles joined more than 12,000 of their colleagues worldwide to bring health and wellness education to the communities where they live and work.

“Every year, thousands of Aramark team members come together to volunteer their time and talent on Aramark Building Community Day,” said Jeff Gilliam, President of Aramark’s Higher Education business. “Our 100 team members at UCAN brought health and wellness education to Chicago families and achieved our goal of creating long-lasting health and wellness programs, here in Chicago.”

Ten years after Aramark Building Community launched, Aramark (NYSE: ARMK) team members returned to one of the sites where it started, volunteering their time at R.W. Brown Community Center to bring health and wellness education to preschoolers and community members. Sodexo Stop Hunger Foundation announced today that it is extending its partnership with the Armed Services YMCA (ASYMCA) and providing a $100,000 grant to improve access to nutritious food to help end childhood hunger. The organizations will continue to work together to support the military community by helping to reduce food insecurity among military families. With the generosity of organizations like Sodexo Stop Hunger Foundation, ASYMCA can help stop military family hunger through programs and services supporting young, low-income military families.

Xylem Volunteers Join iHeart Radio in a Water Donation Drive to Help Victims of Hurricane Florence

Hurricane Florence is causing vast devastation in the U.S. South East and Mid-Atlantic regions of North and South Carolina, Virginia, Georgia and Maryland. Xylem joined forces with iHeart Radio to donate water to support disaster relief efforts. Nine employees in Atlanta, GA spent two days collecting, loading, and delivering cases of water to those affected by Florence. Xylem encouraged customers and channel partners to support the drive, by either donating items or volunteering, which spanned from Monday, September 17 to Tuesday, September 18. Xylem strives to serve as a lead corporation in disaster relief efforts, and is proud to see employees jumping up to serve those in need.
