In 2018, thousands of Symantec employees globally partcipated in our year-long, Going Green in 2018 campaign to help create a more sustainable business and future. While company-wide challenges and initiatives were planned, in most cases "It's the Little Things" - those individual commitments, choices and actions - that each employee did that collectively made a significant and lasting impact.

The National Diversity Council will host the 2019 National Diversity and Leadership Conference on April 8-12, 2019 at the Hilton Anatole Hotel and the Renaissance Dallas Hotel. This year’s theme is “Inclusion: The Time is Now.”

Back in July 2017, HP Inc. committed to enhancing education for more than 100 million people by 2025. And in partnership with Global Citizen, its mission is to reinvent quality learning and digital literacy to empower people, including those who are marginalised, to help them succeed in the digital economy and create better lives for themselves and their families.

On February 11, 2019, our CEO, Hans Vestberg, along with over 100 other CEOs representing nearly every sector of the American economy urged Congress to pass a permanent, bipartisan solution this year to protect the Dreamers.

I’ll never forget listening to a community gardener talk about the challenges facing young children in his east-side neighborhood. Violence, drugs, poverty, absent parents, hunger. It was heartbreaking. The conversation started when another community garden leader explained that a portion of our ScottsMiracle-Gro grant was used to purchase pairs of cheap, plastic flip flops.

Why? I asked.

I examine my personal finances by asking myself three overarching questions: How am I making money? How am I investing it? And how am I spending it? As a full-time social entrepreneur, I routinely ask myself if I’m making money in a way that allows me to have a real impact.

As a millennial, my generation has little trust in large institutions — from governmental offices to our large banks and financial institutions. We want our money aligned with our values and desires for a more sustainable planet. We are poised to catalyze big shifts in how financial services operate.

As the field of pro bono service continues to grow, companies increasingly identify pro bono programming as a critical element of their overall social impact objectives. Taproot Foundation conducted an inaugural survey of companies doing pro bono to collect data on their programs, identify trends, and share key observations for advancing the field. This resource provides information to help practitioners compare their program design and outcomes to peers in the field, and to support them as they achieve greater impact through pro bono service.

This year, over 100 schools participated, donating more than 40,000 items including toys, games and sports equipment to under-resourced schools across Atlanta.

As part of its Gro More Good commitment to connect 10 million children to the benefits of gardens by 2023, The Scotts Miracle-Gro Foundation is encouraging schools and not-for-profit organizations across the country to apply for funding to support their youth garden programs. The Gro More Good Grassroots Grants initiative focuses its support on garden and greenspace projects that connect more children with the life-enhancing and transformative benefits of gardening.
