This is Brown-Forman Corporation’s second year making the “Best for Vets: Employers” list in the ranking’s nine year history.

Duke Energy (NYSE: DUK) has announced that it has received the 2018 Secretary of Defense Employer Support Freedom Award, the highest honor the U.S. Department of Defense gives to companies for their outstanding support for employees who serve in the National Guard and Reserve.

For the 11th year in a row, Sears and Rebuilding Together have teamed to launch the Heroes at Home initiative, which benefits veterans and their families.

Today, Walmart announced it has hired more than 200,000 veterans and promoted more than 28,000 to roles of greater responsibility since launching its Veterans Welcome Home Commitment five years ago. Recognizing the important skills and leadership abilities veterans possess, the commitment helps veterans find career opportunities at Walmart and aims to ease the sometimes difficult transition from active duty to civilian life. Walmart is now more than 80 percent of the way to reaching its goal of hiring 250,000 veterans by 2020.
