Beginning June 17, 2021, Researchers’ World at Mill River Park will offer free workshops, introducing students to the concepts of sustainability, consumption, recycling, materials science and more.
JetBlue recently announced the winners for the fourth cycle of its BlueBud business mentoring program. Eat Your Coffee, Sustainable Snacks and 9 Miles East Farm will participate in an in-depth business mentorship program with JetBlue, learning what it takes to get their brands off the ground. BlueBud offers innovative and budding food and beverage brands a unique opportunity including access to JetBlue’s leaders and an inside look at the airline’s distinctive product development culture and award-winning onboard experience. The BlueBud program launched in 2015 and originally focused on up-and-coming environmentally and socially responsible food brands based in New York. JetBlue has expanded the program to include small businesses in the greater Boston area.
Durkan is now accepting artwork submissions for the dscvr Student Design Competition, its annual hospitality design contest, through March 15, 2019. Sponsored each year by Durkan and NEWH, a leading networking organization for hospitality industry professionals, the dscvr program exhibits the talent of designers in the hospitality field and contributes toward the education of future designers within the industry.

We are excited to see skills-based volunteerism continue to play an important role in building stronger communities and developing purpose-driven professionals across all sectors. While we are proud of what we have accomplished so far, we know there is more work to be done in 2019 and beyond to continue to drive meaningful community partnerships.
