Companies should use a range of existing, publicly-available climate-related scenario analysis or develop their own in order to assess the risks posed to their business by climate change, according to the Financial Stability Board (FSB) Task Force on Climate-Related Financial Disclosures (TCFD).

Tetra Pak reached a significant milestone in early 2016, with the total number of FSC™-labelled packages delivered passing the 200 billion mark. The first Tetra Pak package to be labelled as made from Forest Stewardship Council™ (FSC™)-certified paperboard – meaning that it comes from FSC-certified and controlled sources and is traceable back to its origins – was delivered in 2007.

At the end of the summer of 2016, we reached a remarkable milestone – 10 million pledges to not drive distracted. The It Can Wait campaign and the 10 million pledge count represent the dedication of so many to keep our roads safe. Today, seven-in-ten people admit to smartphone activity behind the wheel.

According to numbers from a recent Pew Research Center report on the state of the media, the newspaper industry has shed around 20,000 positions, or almost 40 percent of its workforce, over the last 20 years. Between 2004 and 2014, some 126 daily newspapers closed their doors, as reported by Editor & Publisher’s DataBook listings.

SCA in Barton, Alabama, has started to provide a soil improver made from its residual solids. Nearby farmers have begun using the substance to improve the soil quality for growing crops. It’s a win-win: farmers improve their crops and SCA sends less solids to landfill.

Nearly a quarter of company revenue on average is dependent on commodities that are directly linked to deforestation. However, only a fraction of these companies have taken significant steps to adequately assess and manage the resource risks posed.
