The Volkswagen core brand is actively engaged in 100 environmental and social projects worldwide. All CSR themes are presented in the sustainability Report. In Mexico, 1,000 young people were trained as environmental "angels" and ambassadors called "EcoChavos".

The first library for visually-impaired students was set up in Guwahati at the Blind High School on Wednesday. The library offers the braille versions of a variety of academic books and journals, self-help, general knowledge books, which students otherwise find hard to procure, as reported by The Tribune

Today, on the birthday of Louis Braille, the inventor of the reading and writing system for the blind that bears his name, the National Federation of the Blind (NFB) and Wells Fargo launched the 2017 Braille Enrichment for Literacy and Learning (BELL) Academy program. The program takes place throughout the country each summer and provides blind children initial or advanced Braille instruction so that they may learn how to use this powerful reading medium in fun, interactive ways. In addition to sponsoring the BELL Academy, Wells Fargo will provide strategic input into the program and offer team member volunteers at select academies.

In 1777, in the dark of night, a sixteen-year old Sybil Ludington mounted her horse, Star, and raced furiously across forty miles of rocky terrain to warn her community of an imminent threat.
It was the time of the Revolutionary War when British citizens were fighting tooth and nail for the place I now call home—the United States of America. Sybil, the age of a high schooler, travelled a distance significantly farther than that of Paul Revere to alert militia forces of the British army’s approach.
