Girls in elementary schools in Houston’s Alief Independent School District (ISD) will now have more opportunities to access afterschool programming that will expand their science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) education and career opportunities, thanks to a new partnership between CITGO Petroleum Corporation and the nonprofit organization Girlstart, which is part of the CITGO STEM Talent Pipeline initiative.

The show will feature speakers presenting big ideas in Hindi in TED’s signature format, with Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan serving as the host. The series marks the first time TED will collaborate with a major network and star to produce a TV series featuring original TED Talks in a language other than English.

Students from the CITGO Innovation Academy for Engineering, Environmental & Marine Science at Foy H. Moody High School took home two awards at the 2016 Marine Advanced Technology Education (MATE) International Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) Competition, held at the state-of-the-art NASA Johnson Space Center’s Neutral Buoyancy Lab in Houston.

Sodexo, world leader in Quality of Life services, hosted executives, members and graduates of Leadership Montgomery for a reception and service event today benefiting Manna Food Center’s Smart Sacks program. Held at Sodexo’s corporate headquarters for North America in Gaithersburg, Md., the event highlighted expanded programming offered by Leadership Montgomery following its expansion last month to include the Corporate Volunteer Council (CVC) of Montgomery County. Somerset Mayor Jeffrey Slavin and Montgomery County Councilmember Sidney Katz were also in attendance to support the service activity, which benefits students at Washington Grove Elementary School.

Serving Republic’s 14 million customers goes beyond handling their recycling and waste needs. Service is about being a Good Neighbor to the communities where we live, work and raise families.

The purpose of academia is to nurture and strengthen the next generation of leaders through research and critical analysis. Additionally, higher education aims to encourage individuals to investigate their interests and pursue a greater understanding of the world surrounding them.

There’s a green shift happening in the workplace as sustainability- and conservation-focused jobs grow across all sectors. Pathways to these positions are constantly evolving, though, and it can be daunting for students to map out their career paths.
