Recently, the CITGO Lemont Refinery held their annual United Way campaign – raising $206,087 in support of the 46 partner agencies that receive funding and guidance from the United Way of Will County.

CITGO Takes Another Step in Protecting the Heritage Quarries Recreation Area
The CITGO Lemont Refinery recently awarded Lemont High School a grant for the purchase of a Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV). The ROV will be utilized for research within the Heritage Quarries Recreation Area (HQRA) as a part of regular classroom instruction.

CITGO Lemont Refinery Helps Local Marines Bring Christmas Joy to Local Kids
Employees and contractors at the CITGO Lemont Refinery joined forces this past holiday season with the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve’s Toys for Tots drive. Collections bins were placed throughout the refinery and over 600 unwrapped toys were collected for needy children in Will and Grundy Counties.

CITGO Tees Off at Driving for a Cure Golf Outing to Help End Muscular Dystrophy
Employees from the CITGO Lemont Refinery, CITGO Petroleum Corporation and the Cicero Manufacturing Facility helped raise $500,000 for those battling neuromuscular diseases at the 20th annual Driving for a Cure Golf Outing benefiting the local Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) chapter. The proceeds from this event – the second-largest MDA golf outing in the country – will go towards clinical research and medical and rehabilitation costs for patients fighting muscular dystrophy.

CITGO Celebrates 90th Anniversary of Lemont Refinery
Today, CITGO Petroleum Corporation is capping off celebrations of the CITGO Lemont Refinery’s 90th anniversary by welcoming community leaders, nonprofit partners, employees and retirees to the refinery for a commemorative ceremony. This follows efforts throughout the year to thank Chicagoland for its many years of support through volunteer activities and community events.

CITGO Day at Wrigley Field Helps Mark 90 Years of Operations at Nearby Lemont Refinery
CITGO Petroleum Corporation is taking 200 local students out to the ballgame for CITGO Day at Wrigley Field as part of the CITGO Lemont Refinery’s 90th anniversary celebration. These students will be CITGO special guests for the 7:05pm Cubs game against the Pittsburgh Pirates on Wednesday, August 31, with each child receiving a commemorative t-shirt and Cubs dollars for snacks. All Cubs fans attending the game have the chance to join in on the fun: the first 10,000 fans will receive Cubs player decals presented by CITGO.

CITGO Lemont Refinery Employees Ride for a Cure in 35th Annual Bike MS: Tour de Farms
Thirty-nine employees from the CITGO Lemont Refinery raised approximately $35,000 in the annual Bike MS: Tour de Farms, a two-day bike ride to raise money and awareness for those affected by multiple sclerosis (MS).
