Samsung Electronics America, Inc. today will host its bi-annual, companywide Day of Service throughout their national locations in New Jersey, New York, Texas, California and Washington, D.C. and regional offices. The event, which occurs each spring and fall, is part of the company’s overarching Samsung Gives initiative, a platform that creates service opportunities for Samsung employees to connect to meaningful causes within their own communities.

In honor of National Military Appreciation Month, Wells Fargo & Company (NYSE: WFC) today announced it has launched its ApprenticeshipUSA program for veterans. A Department of Labor program, ApprenticeshipUSA offers companies the tools needed to develop a highly skilled workforce and provides veterans the opportunity to earn a salary while learning additional skills necessary to succeed in high-demand civilian careers. In addition to ApprenticeshipUSA, Wells Fargo offers other veteran career transition initiatives, including the Veteran Employment Transition (VET) Internship Program, American Corporate Partners mentorships, and scholarships and emergency grants through Scholarship America.

These eleven service dogs in training are ready to walk! Susquehanna Service Dogs (SSD) is one of 48 organizations participating in the Highmark Walk for a Healthy Community on May 20 at HACC in Harrisburg, PA. Thanks to Highmark Blue Shield, which underwrites the cost of the walk, all the money raised by SSD’s walkers comes directly to SSD.
