After More than Three Years in Foster Care, Little Boy Finally Has Forever Family

Did you know that the average length of time that a child is in foster care before being adopted is about three years? Most children move house-to-house during that time and often fall behind in their school work, aren’t able to make lasting friendships and find it difficult to trust.

Bloomberg Hosts 5th Annual Young Women’s Leadership Summit

On Saturday, March 3, Bloomberg hosted its 5th annual Startup Young Women’s Leadership Summit, convening 500 high school and college-aged girls at the Metropolitan Museum of Art for a day of networking and mentoring. More than 200 employees in the Bloomberg Startup program joined together with students from 34 diverse partner organizations, including CUNY’s Macaulay Honor College, the Young Women’s Leadership Network, PENCIL, and our partner school University Heights High School, Girls Who Invest, the Ghetto Film School, and other high schools that participate in our FIRST Robotics programs.

AIDA Cruises is continuing its ongoing commitment to social, cultural and charitable projects. On March 9, 2018, at the ITB in Berlin, Hansjörg Kunze, vice president for communication and sustainability, presented a check for 42,265 euros to the Reiner Meutsch Foundation FLY & HELP for the reconstruction of an elementary school in Dinagat in the Philippines. The donation is part of the money raised from a charity raffle that AIDA traditionally holds aboard the AIDA fleet on New Year’s Eve. Severe floods destroyed many schools in the region in December.
