It’s a big job that extends hundreds of miles, and teams from Marathon Petroleum rolled up their sleeves alongside community members to do their part, one bag at a time, at the 2025 Ohio River Sweep.
We’ve all heard the analogy of the three-legged stool, right? Despite being incredibly stable when all three legs are firmly on the ground, if you lose one leg, the stool topples over. This principle holds true with EHS&S programs as well.
Antea Group has assembled a team of seasoned professionals to create a similarly stable EHS&S support structure for the chemical industry. The “legs” that support a successful EHS&S program are Environmental Compliance, Health & Safety and Sustainability.
Antea Group has been named a member partner of the Reducing Embodied-Energy and Decreasing Emissions (“REMADE”) Institute by the U.S. Department of Energy. REMADE, part of the multiagency network known as Manufacturing USA, will work to find new and less expensive ways to reuse, recycle, and remanufacture materials such as metals, fibers, polymers, and electronic waste, aiming to achieve a 50-percent improvement in overall energy efficiency in U.S. manufacturing by 2027.
The nation’s first privately-run electric bus fleet began service in Chicago in December 2016, and it's not run by the City of Chicago—it’s run by the owners of Aon Center and Prudential Plaza.
Nov. 15, 2016 marked a historic day for the forestry sector in Indonesia and for timber legality efforts globally. Indonesia became the world’s first country to export forest products licensed under the EU’s Forest Law Enforcement, Governance and Trade (FLEGT) Action Plan. This means that Indonesia’s forest products now automatically meet the strict requirements of the EU Timber Regulation, designed to prohibit illegal timber products from entering the EU. This milestone is particularly gratifying to me. As a member of the SCS Forest Conservation Program for more than a decade, I know first-hand the environmental and social costs of illegal forestry practices... https://www.scsglobalservices.com/blog/indonesia-becomes-worlds-first-country-to-export-forestry-products-under-eus-strict-timber

As a business paradigm, the circular economy represents a maturing of the global business community. Under this philosophy, biological and mineral resources are no longer simply there for the taking, but are precious natural capital to be stewarded. Air, water, and ecosystems are no longer viewed as dumping grounds for wastes, but are community commons that must be protected. And products are not simply trinkets to be used and discarded, but are designed to serve their function, then to be reused, repurposed, or recycled with the least possible waste. Now, in this period of unprecedented climate change, it is essential for companies, governments and institutions to apply the lessons of the circular economy to our greatest challenge – stabilizing the Earth’s climate.
When someone sues an organization repeatedly and then gets put in charge of that agency it's a pretty classic example of the fox guarding the henhouse.
