Southern California Edison has launched its Charge Ready program to expand access to electric vehicle charging in its service territory, beginning with construction of the first charging stations in the cities of Lynwood and Ontario.

Consumers Energy announced today that it will provide up to 150,000 high-efficiency LED bulbs to Michigan families through food banks. Consumers Energy will make the contribution as part of its “Light the Moment with ENERGY STAR Buy a Bulb, Give a Bulb” campaign, which starts Saturday and runs through April.

POWERGRID International has selected CPS Energy’s Demand Response Management System (DRMS) as its 2017 Demand Response/Energy Efficiency Project of the Year. In January 2017 the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) announced that independent analyses conducted by NASA and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) show that 2016 was the warmest year on record globally and represented the third record year in a row. The release noted that the rise in temperature is being driven primarily by increased carbon dioxide and other human-made greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. According to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the largest sources for GHG emissions in the U.S. are electricity production and energy use within industries.
