Das Bundesministerium für Umwelt, Naturschutz, Bau und Reaktorsicherheit (BMUB) fördert ein Projekt des World Environment Center Europe (WEC Europe) und des Institute for Sustainability zur Verbreitung aktueller Standards unternehmerischer Nachhaltigkeit in Chile und Mexiko. Vertreter führender deutscher Unternehmen und weitere internationale Experten werden in mehreren Workshops die Vorteile einer nachhaltigen Unternehmensführung diskutieren, deren Auswirkung auf Innovationen in der Wertschöpfungskette sowie die praktische Verschmelzung von Nachhaltigkeitszielen mit der Unternehmensstrategie.

German Environment Ministry Awards WEC Europe and The Institute for Sustainability a Major Grant to Advance Corporate Sustainability Management in Latin America

The German Ministry for Environment, Nature Conservation, Building and Nuclear Safety (BMUB) has awarded the World Environment Center Europe (WEC Europe) and the Institute for Sustainability a grant to disseminate best practices in corporate sustainability management in Chile and Mexico. Leading German company executives and international thought leaders will participate in peer-to-peer roundtables to discuss the sustainability’s value proposition, value chain innovation and integration of strategy and practices across the enterprise.

Geotechnical engineering expert Charles Ng of Hong Kong University of Science and Technology has been named CLP Holdings Professor of Sustainability.

The endowed professorship in sustainability is the first of its kind at a Hong Kong university. It will focus on climate change and sustainable energy, which are not only important to CLP but also of significance globally.

Wells Fargo Global Operations Now Powered by 100 Percent Renewable Energy

Wells Fargo & Company (NYSE: WFC) today announced that 100 percent of its global electricity consumption for 2017 will be met with renewable energy. The milestone means the company has met the first part of its commitment to purchase renewable energy to power 100 percent of global operations by the close of 2017, with a transition to long-term agreements that fund new sources of green power by 2020.

Carnival Cruise Line Signs Agreement With Shell to Fuel North America’s First LNG-Powered Cruise Ships

Carnival Cruise Line, a unit of Carnival Corporation & plc (NYSE/LSE: CCL; NYSE: CUK) and the world's most popular cruise line, today announced it has signed an agreement with Shell NA LNG, LLC (Shell) to be its supplier of marine liquefied natural gas (LNG) to power North America’s first fully LNG-powered cruise ships. Under this framework agreement, Shell will supply Carnival Cruise Line with fuel for its two new LNG-powered ships expected to launch in 2020 and 2022 and to be homeported in North America.
