World AIDS Day 2018: Together We Are Stronger

World AIDS Day takes place on December 1 each year. The day was first recognized in 1988 to raise awareness of the AIDS pandemic, show support for people living with HIV and remember those who died of AIDS-related causes. Our commitment to fighting HIV and AIDS began in 1986 in the San Francisco Bay Area when we started to see HIV/AIDS affecting our employees and communities first hand. A few years later, our company recognized that some of our largest operations were in areas where the grip of AIDS was growing rapidly.

Scotiabank Continues Its Support of the SickKids-Caribbean Initiative with a New $1 Million Donation

in support of the SickKids Herbie Fund, Scotiabank announced a new $1 million donation to support Phase Two of the SickKids-Caribbean Initiative, a project with a goal of helping to build a sustainable program to diagnose and treat paediatric cancer and serious blood disorders in the Caribbean. The initiative – in which Scotiabank is recognized as the Telemedicine Partner – connects doctors at The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) in Toronto with doctors in six countries in the Caribbean to help improve – and in many cases, save the lives of young people.

Comerica Bank Ranked Among Top Corporate Supporters of American Heart Association Detroit Heart Walk by Raising over $38,000

Comerica Bank finished among the Top 4 companies supporting the American Heart Association’s 2019 Metro Detroit Heart and Stroke Walk/Run by contributing over $38,000 to help raise funding for break-through research. Additionally, Team Comerica captured the best overall honors in the Top Team category with a donation of $15,000.

CITGO employees, Marketers, Retailers, vendors and suppliers raised more than $2.2 Million to date for families living with muscular dystrophy, ALS and related neuromuscular diseases that severely weaken muscle strength and mobility.

My Special Aflac Duck® Joins University of Georgia in Raising $1.1 Million for Children's Healthcare of Atlanta

Congratulations to our friends at the University of Georgia​ who participated in the Children's Miracle Network Hospitals​ Dance Marathon​. Not only did they celebrate with Miracle families, dance and participate in team building activities, but they also raised more than $1.1 million for Children's Healthcare of Atlanta​! Great work and thank you for letting My Special Aflac Duck​® join in on the fun!

Child Patient Alexandra Raises $150 for Aflac Cancer Center

Alexandra is not only a brave patient—she's also a stellar saleswoman. The 10-year-old sold gum at $0.25 per piece and raised a whopping $150 for the Aflac Cancer Center! Yesterday, she handed over her check as staff came to cheer and support her, just as they have throughout her brain tumor battle. Thank you, Alexandra!

Hall of Fame Quarterback Steve Young Teams up With Aflac for Children’s Hospitals Week

Special thanks to Hall of Fame Quarterback Steve Young, who joined the Aflac Duck at Children's Miracle Network Hospitals Children’s Hospitals Week in Orlando, Florida, to raise awareness for children’s hospitals and celebrate My Special Aflac Duck®, a robot designed to help children cope with cancer. Steve has been a major supporter of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals for more than 30 years.
