I recently attended my first National Association of Environmental Managers (NAEM) conference. It was fabulous! Good content and a nice mix of sustainability practitioners from both large companies, small companies, and various types of advisors. I especially liked the fact that practically everyone I met was on the “front line”—measuring results, setting out strategies, and reporting progress.
Indian farmers are facing severe crop losses due to a variety of reasons: wild boar and wild animal attacks, frequent natural calamities, the effects of global warming, and the lack of manual farm labour. Many wild animals have changed their habitations, going from forests to farm fields because of man-made mistakes such as severe deforestation and destruction in the forest areas.

In partnership with locally based nonprofit Citizen Schools California, McRoskey Mattress Company is supporting education programs geared toward middle school youth. The mattress company’s support of two of the nonprofit’s programs will directly impact 100 students at Joseph George Middle School in San Jose, Calif. This funding was generated through participation in CBS EcoMedia’s EducationAd program.
