Bristol-Myers Squibb was named to Fortune’s World’s Most Admired Companies list as part of the magazine’s annual rankings. The company was No. 5 in the Pharmaceuticals category. The list is put together based on responses from thousands of survey participants. Fortune notes the companies featured on the World’s Most Admired list “represent the pinnacle of excellence in nine key performance areas, from investment value to social responsibility.”
There’s a popular phrase in Haitian creole, “tèt kolé,” which roughly translates to “heads together.” It’s an expression of unity, of working communally to get things done. In the same spirit, International Flavors & Fragrances (IFF) approached Heifer International with an idea. One of IFF’s business endeavors is buying vetiver oil from distilleries in Haiti, then either selling it directly or using it to help develop scents for the fragrance industry.
IFF and Unilever, in collaboration with Oxfam Great Britain, Heifer International and the Ford Foundation, launched Vetiver Together on July 25th, 2016, a two-year pilot program aimed to improve the livelihoods of the vetiver farming communities, strengthen IFF’s vetiver supply chain and increase environmental conservation.
Black & Veatch has been selected to serve as owners’ representative for an energy storage facility at the San Vicente Reservoir near Lakeside in San Diego County, California. The project owners, the San Diego County Water Authority and the City of San Diego, are assessing the potential to develop the 500 megawatt (MW) San Vicente Energy Storage Facility (SVESF) to increase the availability and efficiency of renewable energy for the region.
