Happy Holidays! As we close out 2018, the Common Impact team is reflecting on the significant impact we've made with our partners this past year. We are excited to see skills-based volunteerism continue to play an important role in building stronger communities and developing purpose-driven professionals across all sectors. While we are proud of what we have accomplished so far, we know there is more work to be done in 2019 and beyond to continue to drive meaningful community partnerships.

Additionally, we sponsored more than a dozen runs, walks and bike rides to promote healthy behavior and hosted more than 25 employee health fairs in 2017 at NRG locations across the country.

By 2022, 60 percent of the global population will be internet users and more than 28 billion devices and connections will be online. That’s why today we announced our intent to acquire Luxtera, Inc., a privately-held semiconductor company that uses silicon photonics technology to build integrated optics capabilities for webscale and enterprise data centers, service provider market segments, and other customers.

On their own, these are big issues to solve for, but together they represent both opportunities and challenges for Cisco, our customers, and our partners.
