Lighting Upgrades in Our Plants Increase Energy Efficiency, Reduce Environmental Impact
When team members arrive to start their day at Ingersoll Rand’s Club Car plant in Augusta, Georgia, the energy-efficient LED lights start turning on section by section as they sense movement. Harvesting Rainwater, Serving Meals to Children and More Social Sustainability in India
In the midst of a water crisis in India – where 77 million people don't have access to safe drinking water – the Green Team at the Ingersoll Rand Sahibabad facility built a rainwater harvesting system to collect and filter rainwater before putting it back into the water table. This restores about 1.2 million gallons of rainwater annually, offsetting 75 percent of the water the plant uses in its operations. In addition, the Green Team reduced the facility's water consumption by 43 percent by implementing standard work and making important upgrades to its wastewater treatment plants.

Ingersoll Rand: How to Use IoT to Become More Energy Efficient
According to a Berg Insight report, by 2021 nearly 55 percent of all households in the U.S. are expected to be “smart” homes. Smart, connected thermostats can now do far more than just monitor temperatures – they can adjust humidity levels, turn on and off lights, lock and unlock doors, check security cameras and more.

Sahibabad, India, Green Team Conserves Water, Harvests Rain to Benefit Environment, Community
Our manufacturing facility in Sahibabad, India, is in the heart of India's water crisis. The country's water shortage – caused by drought, urbanization, a dramatically increasing population and more – leaves 77 million people in India without access to safe drinking water and overstresses groundwater resources. Sahibabad's Green Team jumped into action and spearheaded an effort to reduce its water consumption while recharging the groundwater supply with harvested rainwater. Their efforts are making a positive impact on local water resources, and therefore the community.
