Booz Allen Leads the Way for Women on Corporate Boards
On average, women hold 20 percent of the seats on Fortune 1000 corporate boards, according to a recent report by the diversity advocacy group 2020 Women on Boards. This year, Booz Allen was proud to add two extraordinary women to its board of directors, Michéle A. Flournoy and Ellen Jewett, who joined directors Joan Amble, Melody Barnes, and Gretchen McClain to make Booz Allen’s board 38.4 percent female -- nearly double the industry average.

Mitigating Bias, Fostering Inclusion: Booz Allen Hosts “Day of Understanding”
On December 7, more than 200 Booz Allen Hamilton employees engaged in conversations and activities to explore unconscious bias: what it is, how it impacts individuals and organizations, and how to change it.

The two-hour event—with both in-person and virtual participation—tied into a Day of Understanding, during which CEO Action signatory companies hosted discussions within each of their respective organizations to further embrace differences. CEO Action is a commitment by companies worldwide to foster more inclusive workplaces.

The event was also the latest in Booz Allen’s Inclusive Conversations series, which supports the three tenets of the firm’s BE3 Promise: be you, be Booz Allen, and be empowered to change the world.

Booz Allen Makes Indeed’s Top 20 List for Job Seekers
Job search website Indeed logs 9.8 new jobs each second and 200 million visitors every month. In October, the company included Booz Allen in its Top 20 Hottest Companies for Job Seekers.

Booz Allen ranked 11th, ahead of companies such as IBM, Lockheed Martin, and NBCUniversal.

“We are proud to receive this recognition,” said Aimee George Leary, officer of talent strategy at Booz Allen. “As a provider of services and solutions, we’ve always understood that our people are what set us apart. We invest in our people and the things that support their growth with training, and structured feedback with a chance to map and build their future.”

Society of Asian Scientists and Engineers Recognizes 5 Booz Allen Employees
The Society of Asian Scientists and Engineers (SASE) has recognized five Booz Allen employees for their contributions as science and engineering professionals to academia, local communities, and the global business world.

Award recipients were honored at the SASE National Conference Oct. 4–6, 2018 in Schaumburg, Illinois. The event is the largest conference and career fair for Asian Americans in the United States and recognizes leaders at the collegiate and professional levels.

For 20th Consecutive Year, Booz Allen Ranks Among Working Mother’s Top Companies
Women balancing careers and parenting is a fact of life in the United States. In 2017, 65.1 percent of women with children under 6 years old worked, as did 75.7 percent of women with children between 6 and 17 years old, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor and Statistics.
