MIAMI, Fla., Dec. 18, 2013 /3BL Media/ – Cadillac has partnered with CBS EcoMedia Inc. through its innovative WellnessAd advertising program to fund ten Starlight Tablets for two Miami-area hospitals: Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital and Miami Children’s Hospital.

A special “Power On!” luncheon was held at Luca Bella and kicked off this exciting program. Hosts included Ed Williamson, President of the South Florida Cadillac Dealers and Chairman and CEO of Williamson Cadillac; Robert Peters, Associate Director Partnerships, Starlight Children’s Foundation; Paul Polizzotto, President and Founder, CBS EcoMedia; Melissa Wetzel, Development Director, Miami Children’s Hospital, and Jackie Johnstone, Director of Development, Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital.

Prior to the “Power On!” lunch reception, representatives from the local Cadillac dealerships took private tours at both hospitals to witness firsthand the impact of their WellnessAd advertising.

Cadillac’s support funded five Starlight Tablets at each hospital. The Starlight Tablets funded by Cadillac will serve an estimated 4,800 pediatric patients per year.

“The Dade and Broward area Cadillac dealers are delighted to partner with the Starlight Children’s Foundation for the benefit of children who are patients at Miami Children’s Hospital and Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital,” said Ed Williamson, President of the South Florida Cadillac Dealers and Chairman and CEO of Williamson Cadillac.

"This wonderful donation has arrived at Miami Children’s Hospital just in time for the holidays,” said Lucy Morillo-Agnetti, president and CEO of Miami Children’s Hospital Foundation. “These Starlight Tablets will bring comfort and joy to our chronically ill patients during the holiday season and beyond.”

Starlight Tablets are a critical resource for healthcare professionals to support the ongoing needs of kids while in the hospital. The tools and resources on a Starlight Tablet aid child life specialists in easing patients’ fears and empowering kids to cope with their diagnosis. Starlight Tablets come loaded with award-winning Starlight educational programming, a list of recommended applications and a link to Starbright World®, the world’s first-ever online social network for teens with chronic and life-threatening medical conditions.  The Starlight Tablet is an invaluable way to serve the evolving needs of hospitals and children through education, distraction and the healing power of play.

"Putting Starlight Tablet technology in the hands of Child Life Specialists and their patients helps improve the hospital experience for kids at the point of care." said Jacqueline Hart-Ibrahim, Starlight Global CEO.  “We are so pleased to partner with CBS EcoMedia and Cadillac to bring this invaluable resource to Miami-area hospitals."

“Thanks to Cadillac’s generous financial support through their WellnessAd advertising, 4,800 pediatric patients and their families in the Miami area will benefit from the healing and distractive power of Starlight Tablets,” said Paul Polizzotto, President and Founder, CBS EcoMedia.
