(3BL Media) Gaithersburg, MD - June 12, 2012 - Asia Society, the leading global and Pan-Asian organization working to strengthen relationships and promote understanding among the people, leaders and institutions of the United States and Asia, recognized Sodexo with the 2012 HONOR for Distinguished Practice in the Promoting Asian Pacific Americans into Senior Leadership category.

The Asia Society seeks to increase knowledge and enhance dialogue, encourage creative expression, and generate new ideas across the fields of arts and culture, policy and business, and education and with its third annual Diversity Leadership Forum, turned the spotlight on key diversity and inclusion issues in both the U.S. and Asia.

“We are especially proud to receive this honor because eighty percent of the award is determined by the responses provided by Sodexo’s Asian American employees. It is validation from our employees that we are moving in the right direction with regards to our inclusion efforts focused on Asian Pacific Americans,” said Rohini Anand, senior vice president and global chief diversity officer for Sodexo. “Sodexo’s Pan-Asian Network Group (PANG) is key to bringing value to our employees and supporting them to achieve career goals,” added Anand.

The one-day forum featured interactive workshops and culminated in an awards ceremony honoring companies at the forefront in promoting APA leaders and global diversity – based on the results of Asia Society’s “2012 Asian Pacific Americans Corporate Survey.”  The survey of employees from Fortune 500 and other large companies exclusively measures the corporate success of Asian Pacific Americans and explores how companies can create a supportive workplace that is conducive to the growth of both their business and their employees’ leadership capabilities.
