Intensity is a term that describes the usage of resources for, or output from, the manufacture of a set unit of product. We exceeded an aggressive five-year goal of a 40 percent reduction in greenhouse gas (GHG) intensity in just three years and are now working to reduce energy intensity.

As the global community prepares for the United Nations climate change conference beginning November 30 in Paris, National Geographic will dedicate its diverse portfolio of media properties to the coverage of climate change and climate science throughout the month of November. National Geographic Channel, National Geographic magazine, and NationalGeographic.com, each part of a proposed new venture between National Geographic and 21st Century Fox, will debut new content across television, print, and digital that explores the science behind climate change and the unique problems it poses to both our society and our planet.

Center for Resource Solutions (CRS) presented Marty Sedler, Intel's Director of Global Utilities and Infrastructure, with the "Green Power Leader of the Year" Green Power Leadership Award yesterday honoring his over two decades of advocacy for renewable energy development and adoption. In his role at Intel, Sedler is responsible for energy supply and infrastructure for all company facilities, as well as Intel's purchasing, installation, and strategy in its global renewable energy policy.

The Taproot Foundation is pleased to announce it has received a $35,000 grant from the Searle Funds at The Chicago Community Trust to fund general operations. Support from the Chicago Community Trust will allow Taproot to expand their work in the local market, ensuring that Chicago’s nonprofit sector has full access to pro bono resources necessary to build strong organizational infrastructure.
