Channel 2 WSB-TV and The Trust for Public Land today named Stephen Causby as Atlanta’s 2017 Cox Conserves Hero. Park Pride, Causby’s nonprofit beneficiary, will receive $10,000. Causby was among the three finalists who were nominated by the public then chosen by local judging panels to compete in an online vote for the title of Atlanta’s Cox Conserves Hero.

On August 25, 2017, Hurricane Harvey (a Category 4 storm) made landfall on the southern Texas coast as one of the most damaging storms to hit one of the United States’ largest cities. What followed was catastrophic flooding that affected millions of Gulf Coast residents, businesses and the overall energy market.

After the birth of his first child, soft drink industry veteran Paul Lederer found himself thinking about eating and drinking healthier. He started to look for alternative drink options and couldn’t find something that appealed to him. “Everything seemed to compromise somehow,” he said. “I was drinking a lot of coconut water, but the flavors just didn't blend well. Ginger beer's great, but it was loaded with sugar.”

The three events were all under the umbrella of the ‘impact week’ showcase – three days (Tuesday to Thursday) designed to position Botswana as the centre of gravity for the diamond industry and the benefits it can bring. A host of high-profile speakers from government, industry and academia as well as fashion, the media and sports addressed the conferences.

Through our Probaho programme, over 170,000 people a day now benefit from better access to safe drinking water, thanks to 65 new water filtration plants we have installed. The study found that this has reduced the number of people suffering from waterborne diseases, from 32% down to only 0.3%.
