For centuries, both the rose and the camélia flower have been a symbol of longevity and purity — with the rose especially symbolic of love and passion. In the Victorian Era, when pink and red camélias were sent to someone, it meant that the recipient was the “flame” in the heart of the sender. The inspiration for Durkan’s new Camélia Rose carpet collection is helping bring awareness to breast cancer while also raising funds for research, not just in October but year-round.

KeyBank Community Development Lending & Investment (CDLI) has provided $6 million in construction financing to Woda Cooper Communities for the acquisition and substantial rehabilitation of the Stuyvesant Motor building in Cleveland, OH. Upon completion, the historic five-story building will be renamed Prospect Yard and contain 42 units serving individuals and families earning at or below 60% area median income (AMI).

We have dedicated the past two years to transforming our business. During that time, we have quickly built up our market-leading portfolio through internal innovation, as well as through the acquisition of several strategic cyber security companies.

Over the last twelve months, we also took a step back to validate Symantec’s corporate responsibility strategy and our approach to disclosure. We re-assessed key concerns of external stakeholders and met with a broad range of internal leaders to inform our thinking. Based on these conversations, we restructured our priorities and reconfirmed our support for the United Nations Global Compact’s 10 principles to protect human rights, uphold ethical labor conditions, protect the environment, and combat corruption.

Xylem Celebrates Long-Time Partner for its 1000th AquaTower Build—Marking 1 Million People Who Now Have Access to Clean Drinking Water

One of Xylem’s long-standing nonprofit partners, Planet Water, celebrated the installation of its 1,000th “AquaTower” on October 3rd, achieving one million people across fourteen countries who now have access to clean, safe drinking water. The 1000th Tower jumpstarts a new organization initiative to bring clean water to an entire District in Cambodia. Xylem is proud to have worked alongside Planet Water for years, setting up AquaTowers that last from 5-7 years in communities that currently lack safe drinking water. Xylem also provides WASH education to the community’s residents. Thank you, Planet Water, for making this impact possible. Together, we celebrate this accomplishment, and look forward to continuing to work together to solve water globally.

Walmart, Walmart Foundation, Sam’s Club and Foundation For The Carolinas Announce $2.5 million to Assist with Hurricane Michael Relief and Recovery

In response to the devastation caused by Hurricane Michael, Walmart, Sam’s Club, and the Walmart Foundation are committing up to $1.5 million of cash and in-kind support for relief and recovery. In addition, $1 million from the Walmart 2018 Hurricane Relief Fund held at Foundation For The Carolinas will support Red Cross efforts for those most impacted in Florida, Georgia and the Carolinas.
