Go Green This Holiday Season

Environment

The winter holiday season is here! In addition to pumpkin pie, cocoa, and holiday cheer, this time of year also brings more waste. From Thanksgiving to New Years Day, household waste increases by more than 25 percent and an additional one million tons of waste head to landfills each week.

Gift giving, traveling to see loved ones, and holiday decorations can strain the environment, and we have an opportunity to choose more planet-friendly ways to celebrate.

Every little thing counts! With just a few small changes, it’s easy to keep the holiday spirit while saving energy and natural resources.

Cyanide is a highly toxic chemical most commonly used in the leaching process for gold extraction, which means we need to take every precaution to ensure it is handled safely at all our sites.
