Girlstart, the non-profit organization dedicated to STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) education for girls, recently announced an expansion of its partnership with MilliporeSigma in 2018. Thanks to MilliporeSigma’s support, Girlstart will bring its innovative after-school programs and summer camps to the Houston, Boston, and St. Louis metro areas—inspiring girls to pursue STEM education and careers in STEM fields.

21st Century Fox’s National Geographic and Sprint have announced neurological physical therapist Asha Gummadi as the winner of the “CHASING GENIUS: Unlimited Innovation” challenge. Asha, who is based in Philadelphia, will receive $25,000 to pursue her vision of helping doctors to provide virtual physical therapy in developing countries. Microsoft Philanthropies will provide $1.8 million in technology, services and training to power the Team Rubicon platform with a new level of data-driven intelligence and flexibility. The partnership deepens an existing relationship between Team Rubicon and Microsoft Philanthropies, which will also continue to support the organization through employee giving programs and disaster-specific grants.
