As aviation’s global fleet doubles over the next 20 years to meet passenger and cargo demand, the industry has committed to capping the growth of carbon emissions by 2020 and then cutting them to half of what they were in 2005 by 2050. Boeing supports progress with efficient airplanes, work with industry partners to improve operational efficiency and foster development of sustainable aviation fuel.

Just as the sun was rising Tuesday morning, Misti Sporer and Max Gardner walked quietly into the woods toward their goal: a gigantic bald eagle nest just below the crown of a loblolly pine. All talking ceased once they were within about 100 feet. Gardner held back a short distance as Sporer, lead environmental scientist for Duke Energy, moved closer for a 60- to 90-minute observation period.

HP’s CEO Dion Weisler took a pledge back in 2017 to advance these values in the workplace, as part of a CEO-driven business initiative called the CEO Action for Diversity and Inclusion. It does not appear to be an empty promise.
