Gilead Sciences today announced that it has received a top score of 100 percent on the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) 2018 Corporate Equality Index (CEI), a national benchmarking tool on corporate policies and practices related to lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) employees. Organizations that have earned a 100 percent rating on the CEI have satisfied all criteria for that year and are recognized as a "Best Place to Work for LGBT Equality.”

NALCAB - National Association for Latino Community Asset Builders has received $375,000 from Wells Fargo to support the NALCAB network’s programmatic efforts in small business lending and family financial capability. Funding will support seven NALCAB member organizations working in low and moderate-income (LMI) Latino and immigrant communities nationwide to advance family financial capability and increase access to small business capital.

Pro bono service is a powerful way to drive social change. Yet, many corporate employees looking to bring pro bono service to their company struggle to get buy-in from leadership and other key stakeholders. Although these stakeholders may understand the social value of pro bono, they don't always see the business value.

For the fourth consecutive year, Astellas has achieved a perfect score on the Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s (HRC) annual Corporate Equality Index (CEI). The 2018 CEI evaluates LGBTQ-related policies and practices including non-discrimination workplace protections, domestic partner benefits, transgender-inclusive health care benefits, competency programs and public engagement with the LGBTQ community. Astellas’ efforts in satisfying all of the CEI’s criteria again resulted in a 100 percent ranking and the designation as a Best Place to Work for LGBTQ Equality.

Dr. Stuart Cowan will join the senior management team and lead Capital Institute's efforts to grow an international network of place-based regenerative community hubs. Hubs will receive support to nurture a launch team, tell their stories and share their lessons, map their regenerative assets, measure key indicators, create an action plan, implement key regenerative projects, and access regenerative investment capital.

CITGO Lake Charles along with community partners, the Calcasieu Parish School Board and SOWELA Technical Community College, celebrated National STEM Day with local students and teachers on Nov. 8 at the West-Cal Events Center. During the event, fifth-grade students participating in the Calcasieu Parish Engineering is Elementary engaged in an exciting engineering design challenge created by the McNeese State University’s College of Engineering.
