This year, we learned we have fewer than 15 years to prevent catastrophic climate change. We saw suicide rates rise at a rapid rate and watched journalists experience an unprecedented degree of abuse. When the news is overwhelmingly depressing, we find ourselves saying things like, “Just be positive – things will be alright” – or worse, “It doesn’t do any good to get upset.”

AccountAbility announced their collaboration, with a select group of premier global companies, on an exciting new pilot project following the release of the AA1000 Accountability Principles (AA1000AP, 2018).

For the past five years, Timberland has been a proud sponsor of the University of New Hampshire’s Social Venture Innovation Challenge (SVIC), an innovative competition for students and community members to sharesustainable, business-oriented solutions to pressing social and environmental challenges. Now in its sixth year, the SVIC inspires a large and diverse group of thought leaders to develop innovative, solution-orientated thinking and provides a forum to promote their ideas. As a purpose-led brand, Timberland sponsors the SVIC to support the next generation of responsible businesses being developed right in our own back yard.

WEC warmly welcomes Lorenzo J. de Rosenzweig Pasquel to the WEC Gold Medal Award’s independent jury. Lorenzo joins a distinguished group of international leaders that select the Gold Medal recipient annually. The WEC Gold Medal Award for International Achievement in Sustainable Development is one of the most prestigious forms of recognition of a global company's ongoing commitment to the practice of sustainable development.

This is a true story about 1,500 African food companies in nine African countries, and 1,500 volunteers from six food companies that worked together to improve food security across Africa.

This time of year loved ones come together, share a meal and create new memories. For many of our neighbors, that is just not possible. One of the challenges to this comforting picture of the holidays is not having a safe and warm place to gather.

During the holiday season, when most families gather to share festive meals and to exchange gifts, some families face the unthinkable.

Take Harlan for example. Harlan was an active and happy toddler when his world changed forever. At just two-years-old, Harlan was diagnosed with a rare brain cancer for which there was no cure.

While community service is a core part of Timberland’s DNA, and employees around the globe volunteer at many events each year, we don’t always have the chance to return to the partners we serve and see the lasting impact of our work. I recently was able to revisit the Philadelphia Rail Park, which was the focus of Timberland’s 2017 urban greening effort and the site of a large-scale volunteer event to bring the park to life.

Subaru of America is proud to announce a donation of more than 5,000 science books to twenty Camden schools, continuing the brand’s commitment to education as part of its Subaru Loves Learning initiative. Earlier this week, Subaru of America President and CEO, Thomas J. Doll, joined Acting State Superintendent Katrina McCombs, and Harry C. Sharp Elementary School Principal Evelyn Ruiz to personally deliver the donated books to the Harry C. Sharp Elementary School. Following the delivery, Doll read one of the donated science books to a third-grade class of inquisitive students.
