Las Vegas Sands Corp. (LVS) launched its 2016 Sands ECO360 Environmental Report. 2016 marks the beginning of the company’s new five-year reporting cycle with updated Sands ECO360 strategy and new ambitious 2020 sustainability goals. The company’s targets are aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and LVS became the first Integrated Resort company to have their emissions reduction targets approved by the Science Based Targets initiative.

Whenever new materials or suppliers are introduced, our Ethics teams are consulted in order to discuss potential environmental or social impacts. Such early interaction helps to ensure that PANDORA refrains from using potentially problematic materials – and it provides Group Ethics and other departments with valuable knowledge, enabling them to act in due time.
In 2015, PANDORA launched a new Code of Ethics, stipulating our ethical aspirations as a company and our ethical expectations to the behavior of our people. The code covers areas such as human rights, working conditions, environmental footprint, anti-corruption and supplier relations. Building on our ethics policies (available on www.pandoragroup.com/csr), the code offers our employees one common point of reference for ethical dilemmas backed by training modules spanning hiring procedures, workplace ethics and anti-harassment to fraud, gift giving and misuse of company assets.
Subaru has supported Meals on Wheels for the last nine years through Share the Love, contributing more than $12 million to Meals on Wheels America and providing more than 1.7 million nutritious meals, friendly visits, and safety checks to seniors in communities nationwide. Subaru announced the donation to its 630-strong retailer body at the company’s National Business Conference in Denver, CO. This was particularly appropriate as Subaru retailers participate in the company’s annual Share the Love event and donate to causes in their local community. The company’s ‘50 Cars for 50 Years’ vehicle donation will enable Meals on Wheels programs to deliver more nutritious meals and moments of companionship, expanding its reach to seniors in need.
Today is National Safe Digging 8-1-1 Day, and Consumers Energy is encouraging Michigan homeowners and business owners to call MISS DIG 8-1-1 before starting digging projects. “The safety of our customers, the public and local communities is our No. 1 priority. Everyone is safer when anyone digging takes the time to call 8-1-1 to be sure they’re not digging near underground pipes,” said Mary Palkovich, Consumers Energy’s vice president of gas engineering and supply. “We are pleased to see progress in building public awareness of MISS DIG 8-1-1, and we want to help people avoid underground pipelines.”
In September 2014, NRG acquired Goal Zero, a provider of portable solar power and battery pack products and accessories. Goal Zero conducted an analysis of the materials used in the production of its products and determined that substantially all of its products may contain conflict minerals. Conflict minerals are tin, tantalum, tungsten and gold and are referred to as 3TGs.

The report marks the company’s first annual measurement against its revised sustainability goals, building upon the success and key learnings of original targets set in 2011 and reported on through 2015.
