Jacquie Ryan wasn’t sure what she wanted to do after she graduated university with a degree in English and Film Studies, so she headed to Banff to coach skiing. The short-term job set her on a path to a long-term career, and she’s continued to let her passions guide her profession ever since.
On August 10, we’re celebrating #NestléCares: a national day of volunteering with thousands of volunteers in Nestlé’s 120 U.S. hometowns. The City of Corvallis, Republic Services and other local partners teamed up for what is locally referred to as Couch Patrol. The idea came out of a Rental Property Managers Group meeting at the Corvallis Elks Lodge last May, and has turned into a successful initiative. Local property managers and landlords, the City of Corvallis and Oregon State University are also involved in this effort to reduce the clutter on the streets and other livability issues that stem from the spring move-out (in the spring) or move-in (in the fall) of OSU students.

As a medic herself, she had become frustrated with nurses and doctors who never introduced themselves to her before providing medical care.
Since 1998, Aflac independent sales agent Gail Moeder has volunteered with Camp Hope - Heartland in Great Bend, Kansas, a nonprofit camp supporting families living with, through and beyond cancer. For her, the cancer experience hits close to home, inspiring her to be involved with this special place “beyond the rainbow.” Watch and learn more about how she is “doing good” for her community. Look for Gail, along with our other Aflac Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) heroes, in the 2016 Aflac CSR Report #Duckprints #AflacCSR
