The Electronic Industry Citizenship Coalition (EICC), a nonprofit coalition of leading companies dedicated to improving social, environmental and ethical conditions in their global supply chains, today announced that human rights activist and actress Julia Ormond will provide the keynote address at EICC’s annual conference in Santa Clara, Calif. on Oct. 17, 2017.

The Taproot Foundation announces the global expansion of online pro bono matchmaking platform Taproot+ to Singapore in partnership with Empact Ltd. The pilot program will launch during Pro Bono Week, October 22 – 28, 2017. Taproot+ connects nonprofit and social change organizations with experts who are donating their skills and time pro bono.

Hormel Foods has a history of being a good neighbor and Hurricane Harvey is no exception. Hormel Foods is lending a helping hand to those impacted by Hurricane Harvey through its partnership with Convoy of Hope. In anticipation of hurricane season this year, Hormel Foods partnered with Convoy of Hope to help stock their warehouse with protein-rich products, such as SKIPPY® peanut butter, Stagg® chili, Hormel® premium chicken breast and SPAM® products, that could be positioned and distributed immediately for disaster relief efforts. Convoy of Hope sent their disaster services team with our products to help with Hurricane Harvey relief efforts on Friday, Aug. 25, and began distributing over the weekend.

Our hearts go out to the people of Houston, including the thousands of our own employees and customers, who have been impacted by the catastrophic flooding and devastating effects of Hurricane Harvey. To help support those impacted by the disaster, Comcast NBCUniversal is committed to providing well over a million dollars in support to Houston-area relief efforts, including cash and in-kind contributions.

The PNC Foundation today announced that it will donate $250,000 to the American Red Cross for relief efforts in areas affected by Hurricane Harvey. The foundation also will match PNC employee contributions to the American Red Cross that support the Hurricane Harvey relief effort, up to a total of $100,000.

In celebration of Women’s Equality Day and the launch of AEG’s LA Galaxy Girls’ Academy, the LA Galaxy Foundation teamed up with LA Galaxy player Sebastian Lletget and international recording artist Becky G to host a SoulCycle Charity Ride on Aug. 25 in Manhattan Beach, Calif.

Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson, on behalf of his Why Not You Foundation, will present Seattle Children’s and its Strong Against Cancer initiative a donation of $1,675,367 during the Friday Seahawks versus Chiefs preseason game at CenturyLink Field.

Jayden met his adoptive parents at 14 months old after being in foster care for nine months. His mom shared, “We never expected the adoption process to take as long as it did, but we would do it all over again! He was our son from the first day we met him.”

Every five years the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption measures the attitudes of Americans and their feelings and thoughts about foster care adoption. This year the survey was completed by Nielson on behalf of the Foundation and there were some surprising trends.
