KeyBank has provided a $6.5 million bridge loan to Harmony Housing, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to providing safe, clean and comfortable affordable rental housing throughout the United States. Key has provided financing solutions to Harmony Housing since 2014, financing 25 of its last 28 transactions.

Less than four percent of single-family homes have three of the most critical accessibility features of universal design, which includes zero-step entrances, extra-wide hallways and single-floor living. Rebuilding Together affiliates nationwide are working to make homes safer and more accessible for homeowners.

There is a shift taking place among the population of older adults. People are living longer, working longer, staying more active, and contributing to their communities through volunteerism. The baby boomer population is bringing a new face to the seniors’ community. As a result of this shift, defining quality of life for older adults is changing. Whereas the terms “aging” and “getting old” have negative connotations in many cultures, a new culture and tone in facilities serving the diverse needs of aging adults is emerging.
