As a company with hundreds of global locations that serve diverse industries such as transportation, construction, oil and gas, mining, marine and forestry, we are in a unique position to offer training and development opportunities for all employees.

We were honored to receive the 2017 Secretary of Defense Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve Freedom Award. Nominations of employers can be made only by Guard and Reserve employees or a family member acting on their behalf. In 2017, Comcast NBCUniversal received more than 30 individual nominations.

Many unique service members have joined our ranks at Comcast NBCUniversal. Each military employee brings distinct experiences and skill sets from his or her service. Jeff Tzeng, Sabrina Spirito, and Ernest Easter are just three of the military employees who inspire and lead by example daily.

In 2012, we pledged to hire 2,000 veterans by 2015, and in 2015, we pledged to hire 10,000 members of the military community by the end of 2017. We surpassed both goals, and since 2010 we’ve added more than 15,000 veterans, National Guard and Reserve members, and military spouses to the Comcast NBCUniversal family. Our success has led us to expand our hiring and outreach efforts.

We know that supporting our military community takes more than employment alone. We’re using our resources and reach to foster nationwide partnerships that empower the military community, and embracing volunteer service opportunities to support the efforts of many veterans and military-related nonprofit organizations.

This is Brown-Forman Corporation’s second year making the “Best for Vets: Employers” list in the ranking’s nine year history.

Sodexo, a food services and facilities management company committed to improving Quality of Life, today announced that Brett Ladd will serve as the new CEO of the Government for North America and will be a member of Sodexo’s North America Regional Leadership Committee. Previously, Ladd led growth and client retention initiatives as Senior Vice President of Sales for Government North America. He was a member of the executive team when Sodexo established its formal Government segment in 2002.

The UPS Foundation, which leads the global citizenship programs for UPS, has announced more than $10 million in grants to 44 organizations to promote diversity & inclusion.

Duke Energy (NYSE: DUK) has announced that it has received the 2018 Secretary of Defense Employer Support Freedom Award, the highest honor the U.S. Department of Defense gives to companies for their outstanding support for employees who serve in the National Guard and Reserve.

For the 11th year in a row, Sears and Rebuilding Together have teamed to launch the Heroes at Home initiative, which benefits veterans and their families.
