CITGO Employees Raise Funds and Awareness for the American Heart Association

According to the American Heart Association, cardiovascular disease kills 17.3 million people every year. To help curb this statistic, volunteers from the CITGO Corpus Christi Refinery raised money for the local chapter of the American Heart Association, joining their neighbors for the 11th consecutive year in the organization’s annual Heart Walk. This event raises funds for the American Heart Association, while increasing awareness for this deadly disease.

Evolving Regulations: REACH, 5 Substances Added to the Candidate List

Recently, the European Chemical Agency (ECHA) updated their list of Substances of High Concern (SVHCs). According to an article published on the ECHA website, there were five new SVHCs added to The Candidate List. The ECHA cited that the reasoning for these being added was due to “…the carcinogenic, toxic to reproduction, persistent, bioaccumulative and toxic (PBT), and very persistent and very bioaccumulative (vPvB) properties of the substances…”, expanding The Candidate List total to 168.
