Parents searching for quick healthy breakfasts for their kids need look no further. Fourth-grader Madysun Christensen of Salt Lake City, UT, has the winning recipe in Sodexo’s 2016 Future Chefs: Healthy Breakfast Challenge. Madysun, with her Boil-in-a-Bag Omelet recipe, is the national winner of the annual contest, held by Sodexo, world leader in Quality of Life Services.

Companies Provide Pro Bono Support to Improve Health in Ghana

They come from companies around the world with two things in common: extensive business and operational experience and a desire to make the world a better, healthier place. Employees from PIMCO, The Dow Chemical Company, and PricewaterhouseCoopers will be among the first Global Health Corporate Champions, embarking on a month long service learning adventure to help improve the quality of public health in Accra, Ghana, in support of the Global Health Fellows Program II (GHFP-II), a USAID program implemented by the Public Health Institute and PYXERA Global.

A Powerful LIVESTRONG at the YMCA Experience

Earlier this week I visited the Floyd County YMCA with my LIVESTRONG teammate Polly Jenkins and our partners at Eli Lily to see a YMCA program in action and to discuss our partnership. I have always heard great things about the LIVESTRONG at the YMCA program, but I left this site visit with a whole new and fresh perspective. In short, I was blown away. I wish I could have videoed this whole experience, or even better, brought you all with me. One thing is for sure – LIVESTRONG at the YMCA isn’t just an exercise program – it is helping people return to LIFE after cancer. It’s just as much about the rebuilding spirit and the soul, as it is about the rebuilding the body.

A Golden Opportunity to Change Diabetes in Johannesburg

In 1886 a large gold reef was discovered on a remote African farm setting off a major gold rush that led to the establishment of Johannesburg. As the news spread, the population of the city exploded with people hoping to find the riches and Johannesburg quickly became the largest city in South Africa.1 In fact, the Zulu name for Johannesburg is Egoli which means City of Gold.
