Chevrolet recently sold its 100,000th Volt – America’s first plug-in to reach the milestone. Owners have driven almost 1.5 billion miles in EV mode out of a total 2.5 billion cumulative miles, saving nearly 58 million gallons of fuel. Siemens Secures Follow-Up Onshore Wind Project in Australia

Siemens has been awarded a contract to supply, install and commission 32 wind turbines, each with a capacity of 3.2 megawatts and a rotor diameter of 113 meters, for the Hornsdale Stage 2 onshore wind farm in South Australia. Stage 2 is an addition to the Hornsdale Stage 1 wind farm project, for which Siemens has signed a contract in August 2015.

Narrow Streets, Unlimited Innovation

The world’s largest transportation and logistics company proposed replacing its large delivery vehicles with a smaller, city-friendly fleet in Hamburg. UPS drivers would pick up deliveries from a storage container of consolidated shipments in the center of the city. UPS drivers would then use alternative methods, including walkers, conventional tricycles and electrically assisted tricycles, to make deliveries throughout the city center and in pedestrian-only zones.

Siemens is making the world's second tallest office building even greener. Representatives of Taipei 101 and Siemens recently signed a memorandum of understanding that paves the way for the installation of Siemens Navigator, a cloud-based energy and sustainability management platform for buildings.

Avista Collaborates To Show That Efficiency Matters

Recently, Avista collaborated with Spokane, Wash. news station, KREM 2, and Inland Empire Toyota to educate customers about energy efficiency. The “Efficiency Matters” promotion included a contest where one lucky person could win a new, energy-efficient 2016 RAV4 Hybrid XLE. During the seven-week contest (April 18-June 5), viewers could watch any KREM 2 newscast for the energy efficiency keyword and submit it online to enter for a chance to win. Other social media options were also offered to find bonus keywords.

Both of these events played an important part in helping the Group advance its purpose of accelerating progress by removing obstacles to better, more sustainable business decision-making.
