Sands Cares: A Day in the Life Career Day

In February, The Venetian, The Palazzo and Sands Expo hosted 50 students from Valley High School’s Job for Americas Graduates (JAG) Program for a day of tours and workshops to expose them to all the opportunities in the hospitality industry.

Sands Cares Donates $10,000 to Communities in Schools

The donation will help offset the costs of college application fees and other post-secondary interests for CIS of Nevada seniors. SAT and ACT testing can cost $75 per student, cap and gown rental can cost graduates $85 each and non-refundable college application fees can cost students between $45 and $75 per application.

What started out as just a job 10 years ago quickly became a passion for Ngatai Crowchild. Although Ngatai always wanted to go back to school to pursue an education degree, she was so dedicated to her job teaching children in the mainstream and language programs with the Tsuu T’ina Gunaha Institute that taking a break from work to study full-time was a dream placed on the back burner for years.
