Truist Foundation today announced it has awarded a $775,000 grant to Junior Achievement of Central Maryland Inc. (JA) to build a JA Finance Park facility in the Lansdowne community of Baltimore.

Discovery Education today launched a new resource center featuring professional learning assets and opportunities designed to support school systems and educators implementing virtual learning initiatives.

The newly released platform, Open P-TECH, is a free digital education experience launched by IBM to equip young people, aged 14-20, and educators with foundational knowledge about topics like cybersecurity, AI and cloud computing, plus professional skills like Design Thinking and Agile.

IBM has extended its online education resources to all for free. The global scale and speed of disruption in education from the COVID-19 pandemic is “unparalleled” according to the United Nations with an estimated 290 million students impacted globally and growing as several schools and universities are forgoing in-person classes in favor of remote learning.

Imagine a world where Netflix makes your kids smarter, and Youtube is safe. A world where K-12 children can live-stream classes from the very best instructors in courses like robotics, microbiology, chemistry and engineering.
