For National Volunteer Month, ON Semiconductor highlights employees who are making a difference in their local community by engaging in nonprofit board member roles and volunteerism.
On Saturday, April 22nd, more than 100,000 Comcast NBCUniversal employees, and their families and friends, and community partners will participate in the 16th annual Comcast Cares Day, the nation’s largest single-day corporate volunteer effort and a culmination of the company’s year-round commitment to community service. At nearly 1,000 projects across the nation and in approximately 20 countries around the world, volunteers will be revitalizing neglected neighborhoods and parks, teaching digital literacy skills, painting murals, cleaning up beaches, installing computer labs, stocking community food banks, and much more.
Old housing issues are often much more significant than drafty windows and squeaky stairs. Rebuilding Together affiliates nationwide are helping low-income homeowners eliminate these hazards and ensure they live safe and healthy in their homes.
This Saturday, April 22, marks the 16th annual Comcast Cares Day, where more than 100,000 volunteers in 21 countries will leave a lasting impact in the communities where they live and work.
Less than four percent of single-family homes have three of the most critical accessibility features of universal design, which includes zero-step entrances, extra-wide hallways and single-floor living. Rebuilding Together affiliates nationwide are working to make homes safer and more accessible for homeowners.
The lasting impression volunteering leaves is often told through the account of one person spending their time making a difference for another. One person showing up on one day could make all the difference in someone else’s life.
Rebuilding Together, a leading national non-profit rebuilding communities in need across the country, will partner with Lowe's to launch its Rebuild-a-Block program and restore homes and neighborhood service centers.
