Investing in Society, CECP’s recently launched compendium of data, research, and case studies illustrates innovations in corporate efforts to solve the world’s most pressing problems. Divided into five sections – Priorities, Performance, People, Planet, and Policies – the collection of insights offers a far-reaching assessment of what leading companies are doing in each of the five focus areas.

In the Policies section, CECP asks, “What are companies doing to promote corporate governance through top-line decisions, such as management responsibilities, internal incentives at the executive level, and employees’ rights?”

Pentair announced the release of its 2017 Corporate Responsibility (CR) Report, highlighting corporate and community citizenship efforts including its continued commitment to sustainable products and solutions, operational excellence, employee engagement, community involvement and philanthropic giving, and governance.

Paul Bulcke, CEO of Nestlé S.A., is confronted with an Internet firestorm after a comment made by his predecessor, Nestlé Chairman Peter Brabeck-Letmathe, in a 2005 interview resurfaces. In the interview Brabeck-Letmathe calls the human right to water an “extreme solution.” Bulcke must make recommendations to lay the foundation for the company’s future direction relevant to water use at its shareholder meeting the next day.

HanesBrands and its employees raised more than $345,000 in its annual headquarters campaign to support the Arts Council of Winston-Salem and Forsyth County.

HanesBrands and its headquarters employees, the largest corporate giver to the Arts Council, have donated more than $6 million to the organization to support the arts since initiating their support nearly 20 years ago.

The Arts Council uses the donations to fund more than 30 organizations that create more than 800,000 arts experiences in Forsyth County.
