The Wendy’s Family has always felt a responsibility to give back to our communities. Dave Thomas’ vision from day one was a focus on Quality, Doing the Right Thing and Giving Back. Every day our restaurant teams across the country and the employees at our Restaurant Support Center in Dublin, Ohio honor his legacy and strive to make him proud.

AkzoNobel has become a sponsor of Het Koninklijk Concertgebouw, the Royal Concert Hall of the Netherlands, for a period of five years. As part of the collaboration, over the coming years AkzoNobel will help conserve the monumental concert hall in Amsterdam with paint and decorative products from its Sikkens brand.

To celebrate Earth Day this year, the sustainability department, along with other Team Members from Sands Bethlehem, volunteered their time at a local elementary school to host the second annual Earth Day Fair. The effort was in conjunction with Sands ECO360, Las Vegas Sands’ Global Sustainability strategy designed to help create a more sustainable future.

Cox Communications, in partnership with The Trust for Public Land, is seeking nominations for environmental volunteers in Cox’s service areas in Orange County, San Diego, Santa Barbara, and Palos Verdes. Nominations are being accepted at CoxConservesHeroes.com through 5 p.m. PT on May 12.

Global outdoor lifestyle brand Timberland recently concluded its second annual Earth Week Celebration at its Stratham, New Hampshire headquarters. During Earth Week, educational events were held each day to foster a better understanding of Timberland’s environmental footprint as well as the footprint of each employee in their personal lives.

Alliance Data announced a $500,000 corporate challenge grant for a new higher-education campus for My Possibilities, a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Wells Fargo (NYSE: WFC) is introducing the Wells Fargo Works for Small Business®: Neighborhood Renovation Program Contest, designed to help improve eligible small businesses in designated neighborhoods in five cities – Atlanta, Houston, Los Angeles, Miami and Minneapolis – through a physical location or storefront makeover. Wells Fargo is launching the program in collaboration with Rebuilding Together, a premier nonprofit organization focused on rebuilding communities.

Charlotte, N.C., likes to be known as the City of Trees, but keeping that name requires a lot of work because development and aging trees are threats to the city's tree canopy. So the city decided in 2011 to cover half of Charlotte with trees by 2050. Doing that requires planting 500,000 trees.

More than 50 high school students from Benton Harbor, Bridge Academy, Dowagiac and Hartford participated in mock interviews with Whirlpool Corporation employees on Thursday, April 27.
