Las Vegas Sands’ global corporate giving program, Sands Cares, donated $100,000 to HELP of Southern Nevada’s Shannon West Homeless Youth Center to provide 1,807 nights of shelter for at-risk youth, and the opportunity to name five rooms on the first floor of the center after Sands Cares.

Las Vegas Sands announced the 12 recipients of The Mr. Sheldon G. and Dr. Miriam Adelson Citizenship Award presented by Sands Cares. The award was established through Sands Cares, the company’s corporate giving program, to recognize team members across all regions who have demonstrated a dedication to giving back to their local communities and important causes.

Las Vegas Sands Responsible Gaming Ambassador Training Educates Team Members in Problem Gambling
Las Vegas Sands has always focused on making its communities better places to live through Sands Cares and Project Protect, which promote a strong quality of life and foster a positive environment. Through its Responsible Gaming Ambassador program, the company has dedicated itself to educating its Team Members on how to create a positive environment at all of its properties worldwide. Hotel Manager Kai Shield became a responsible gaming ambassador in 2017 after seeing his assistant director go through the training, making him eager to participate.

Responsible Gaming: Dr. Bo Bernhard
For the past seven years, Dr. Bo Bernhard, world-renowned responsible gaming expert, has led the responsible gaming ambassador training program at Las Vegas Sands properties across the globe. Dr. Bernhard serves as the executive director for the International Gaming Institute (IGI) at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV), where he oversees all research and academic functions.
