The energy provider placed 13th overall in Forbes’s list of America’s best employers for diversity from all industries across the nation, and is the only company in the “utilities” category in the top 100 of the listing.

Two Consumers Energy leaders – Andy Bordine and Holly Bowers – have been named among the energy industry’s “Top 40 Innovators” by Public Utilities Fortnightly, a leading national trade publication.

Consumers Energy Honored with Governor’s Energy Excellence Award
Consumers Energy has won the Governor’s Energy Excellence Award in the Best Communication or Education Program category for its work to help hundreds of nonprofits and houses of worship in Michigan to reduce their energy costs. The Nonprofit Energy Efficiency Program provides free or minimal-cost upgrades that have helped over 1,300 nonprofits lower their costs by $1.5 million a year since 2013.

An independent national survey has named Consumers Energy as a “Most Trusted Brand,” ranking it fourth in the nation among providers of electricity and natural gas among residential customers. “We are focused on delivering an exceptional customer experience to the 6.7 million Michigan residents who count on us for electricity and natural gas every day for their homes or businesses,” said Patti Poppe, Consumers Energy’s president and chief executive officer. “We feel honored that our customers are telling us we are doing well, and we will strive to do even better as we look to the future.”
