The International WELL Building Institute (IWBI) today announced that it has signed on to the United Nations Global Compact, a voluntary leadership platform for the development, implementation and disclosure of responsible business practices.

The other two winning projects consisted of devices to assist people with limited joint mobility to easily don compression socks and an electromechanical device designed to counteract the tremors caused by Parkinson’s Disease and stabilize the user’s handwriting.

One June day in 2014, Beth Robertson-Martin found herself standing on a dirt road dividing two California tomato fields.
